I have talked with a number of people who believe that they would like to work for their current employer remotely from the destination of their choice.  I always thought this was a great idea.  Why not be allowed to work from the comfort of your fishing cabin in the Great Canadian wilderness or the sun soaked beaches?

The reasons that this is a great idea are hard to count (for both employer and employee).

I believe that employers would have more loyal employees – do you think someone that gets to work in the comfort of their home or RV or local coffeeshop is going to take another job with an employer who forces them to work in a air conditioned windowless box?

Employees don’t get involved in freeway congestion, don’t pollute the environment with their cars (reducing our dependence on foreign oil), and don’t engage in needless office chatter.
